You won't exactly be roughing it, but if this is your first trip to Camp Nerdly, here is a list of useful stuff:

  • A sleeping bag and pillow (You'll be provided with a bare mattress and a bunk in a rustic cabin.)
  • Practical layers -- since the event is in mid-May, it can be anywhere from freezing to broiling, sometimes both in one day!
  • A rain jacket or poncho
  • Camping dinnerware: a fork, knife, spoon, mug/cup, plate and bowl (Paper and plastic stuff will be provided, but bringing your own helps cut down on waste.)
  • Insect repellent
  • Flip-flops to wear in the shower
  • A towel
  • A flashlight

If you are coming from far away by airplane, let the organizers know and they can probably round up sleeping bags and other such necessities for you.

Also: Pencils, paper, dice, a game prepped to run, a camera.
